The building, originally built in 1888, is located in a rejuvenating area of Lisbon. Like the older uncle who refuses to sit at the adults’ table because he prefers to listen to the younger ones’ conversations. Between Estrela and Príncipe Real, two of Greater Lisbon’s most charismatic neighborhoods, families and travelers live together in organized chaos. Just a few steps away from bookshops, taverns, and pastry shops, São Bento lives where old charm blends with new routines.
Once painted a bright red, it now sports green tiles, as if to say, “I’m old, but I’m fine!” Inside, every detail has been thought out and discussed, from the button panels to the custom-made door handles. At the back, metal balconies open onto a lush garden that invites you to pause and relax, even in the midst of the capital’s hustle and bustle.
